Dr. Joanne Peter is Director of Jhpiego’s Innovation Hub and Senior Advisor to the HealthTech Hub Africa. She leads a multidisciplinary team that drives new models of decentralized, data-driven and person-centered care across Jhpiego’s work in 33 countries. She also leads Jhpiego’s Worldwide Innovation Support Hub (WISH), an accelerator that helps innovators to scale their solutions by harnessing Jhpiego know-how and networks. Prior to Jhpiego, Joanne spent her career in strategic philanthropy, including time with Google.org, the UN Foundation, DGMT and Johnson & Johnson, working on a range of health, technology, and innovation programs. She trained in Medicine and International Development at the University of Cape Town and Oxford University respectively. She has served on several non-profit boards and advisory boards, including Living Goods, Jacaranda Health and Ona.
