Johnny Jirón is an Investment Officer at the IDB’s Opportunities for the Majority Initiative. He joined the IDB Group in 2005 as an Investment Officer for the Inter-American Investment Corporation where he conducted project feasibility assessments for investment and technical assistance projects in Central America and the Caribbean. Before working for the IDB Group, Johnny worked as a Corporate Loan Officer for a commercial bank in his native Nicaragua originating, underwriting and managing agribusiness, commercial and industrial loan portfolios. He holds a Master’s degree in International Finance and Marketing from Western Illinois University, and a BSc and MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering from the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas.
