Kamakhya is a development finance specialist who has been involved with the development sector for about fifteen years.
Kamakhya has worked extensively on promotion, finance and development of SMEs and on meeting the financial needs of microfinance institutions, development organisations and NGOs. He has also been a visiting Faculty on the subjects of Economics and Finance.
Kamakhya did his CFA to improve his knowledge of different tools and techniques of finance and be in a better position to meet the financial needs of the clients.
Kamakhya completed his doctoral research on “Strategic Management of Microfinance Institutions and their role in Sustainable Development…” as his heart lay in the development sector.
In his last assignment in India, Kamakhya was providing his consultancy services to a microfinance institution on systematizing the operation and interacting with international (Accion and Unitus) and Indian (SIDBI, NABARD, Banks and other MFIs) financial institutions on raising capital.
Kamakhya is currently pursuing MBA from Said Business School, University of Oxford, to sharpen his business and financial skills.
While pursuing his MBA, Kamakhya is working on a project linking microfinance to sustainable development. He intends to return to the development sector after his MBA and start applying his MBA skills to the development sector.
