In 2002, Kelly started Artemisia International, a foundation thatsupports the growth of emerging market clusters for high-performance businesses whose products and services contribute to reducing poverty. She also helped create and develop Artemisia Negócios Sociais, a Brazilian social sector organization that develops human capital for this field. In 2009, Kelly and two partners launched Vox Capital, a Brazilian venture capital fund that invests in companies with a double bottom line.

Kelly holds a Masters in Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris and has spent the past 12 years outside her native United States, living, working and studying in Latin America, Europe and West Africa.
