Klaus Prochaska
Alliance for Financial Inclusion

Klaus Prochaska is Senior Policy Analyst at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, a global network of policymakers and regulators dedicated to providing the world’s 2.5 billion unbanked safe access to the formal financial system through smart policy initiatives.

 

Klaus holds a law degree from the University of Vienna and worked for four years as a lawyer in his native Austria before pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Relations, from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). His area of expertise is financial inclusion policy. At AFI Klaus leads the Policy Team and is in charge of knowledge management.

 

Before joining AFI Klaus spent three years managing a project for GIZ in Laos, where he advised the Bank of Lao with regards to its financial inclusion policy and led the implementation of a community managed rural finance project in four remote rural provinces. From 2006 to 2009 he worked with the Policy Team at CGAP in Washington DC where he contributed to CGAPs broad range of financial inclusion policy work. Klaus has worked on financial inclusion policy topics in Brazil, Jordan, Indonesia, Laos and Vietnam.
