Matthew joined Cenfri in 2017 and he now works as a research associate. Since joining he has worked on various projects, such as Making Access Possible (MAP) Zambia, and the Think Tank Initiative. He is currently positioned in the Integrity theme, providing research and guidance to market players on how to comply with international Anti-money laundering standards in a manner which facilitates financial inclusion and economic growth.

Prior to Cenfri, he worked in the private sector at a Development Economics Consultancy firm, where he conducted a multitude of feasibility studies, impact assessments, cost-benefit analyses and development strategies in the areas of petrochemicals, renewable energy and construction.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in development studies, University of Natal
• Honours degree (with distinction) in sociology
• Bachelor of social sciences in economics and sociology, Rhodes University
