Oghenerukeme Asagba was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. She is a recent graduate of Cornell University with a degree in human biology health and society, and a minor in global health. She has conducted research on the National Health Research Act of Zambia, interned in the orthopedics and rehabilitation department at Penn State Hershey College of Medicine and founded CAIN Educational and Medical Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at improving education and health care in impoverished African societies. She envisions Africa as a continent that provides access to quality education and health care for all, and she hopes to contribute to the fulfillment of this vision by engaging future leaders in projects that combat inequities in education and  health care.
