Saloni Atal is passionate about using data and evidence to drive effective public policy and social development programs. She is a Program Manager at Artha Global where she leads policy research and implementation projects across domains including technology, urban development, public health and climate policy. Prior to joining Artha, Saloni worked as a consultant in Dalberg’s Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning practice supporting projects, business development and the internal community of practice.

Saloni’s academic training is at the intersection of social psychology and  public health. She completed her MPhil and PhD at the Cambridge Institute of Public Health, where she was one of three from India selected for the Gates scholarship programme (2017 to 2021). Her research focus was on improving women’s mental health and well-being in marginalised communities in India. She has also taught research methodology at the Master’s level at the LSE and Social Psychology courses at UCL.
