Camilo Tellez and Helen Wernik Nascimento

Camilo Tellez leads the communication efforts for the Technology and Innovation in Business Plans Team. Before joining CGAP, he was an analyst for the Mobile Money for the Unbanked Program (MMU) of the GSM Association in London, where he managed the social media channels for MMU and supported mobile network operators in the region in Latin America where they have developed mobile financial services.  Camilo also worked for the UN Economic Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok and in Microsoft Labs in Bangalore, where he directed the investigation team CT4D in technology for emerging markets.

 

Camilo has a MA in International Relations and Latin American Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, SAIS, an MSc in Information Systems and Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an International Diploma from the Institut d’etudes politiques de Paris – Sciences Po.

 

Helen Wernik Nascimento is based in Brasil and is a Technical Consultant for CGAP’s Technology Program.  Her work focuses on the implementation of branchless banking, in particular how the beneficiaries of Bolsa Familia, the largest conditional income program in the country, relate to its financial products.  Helen received an MA in Public Policy from the Victoria University of Wellington and has a professional degree in Political Science from the Universidade de Brasilia.
