Getting Corporate Incentives Right for Maximum Decarbonization and Socioeconomic Benefits

Corporate clean energy procurement can play an even greater role in increasing investments in clean energy to decarbonize the global power sector and to expand electricity access for the 600 million people currently without access. Because the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) and Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) shape the system of corporate incentives to support clean energy around the globe, there is an opportunity during the current revision processes underway for both to strengthen incentives for projects that deliver the maximum decarbonization and energy access outcomes per corporate procurement dollar spent.

Join us for a lively discussion with mini-grid, nonprofit, and business leaders about how the GHG Protocol and SBTi can better align corporate incentives for clean energy with maximum decarbonization and socioeconomic outcomes.

    Panelists include:
    – Abby Davidson, Managing Director at ENGIE Impact
    – Abraham Mudasia, Director at Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA)
    – Chandni Das, Manager of Impact Accounting at WattTime
    – Steven Vanholme, Programme Manager at EKOenergy

This session will be moderated by Doug Miller, Director of Market Development at Energy Peace Partners (EPP)
