Dangerous Deliveries: Alarming Rise in Mothers Giving Birth Without Clean Water, WaterAid Research Finds

Globally, every two seconds a woman gives birth in a facility where midwives can’t wash their hands, delivery beds can’t be properly cleaned, and mothers have no water to drink, bathe, or wash their newborns. The result is a surge in preventable infections that threaten mothers and babies at the moment they are most vulnerable.
