‘Micro-insurance Impacts Significantly on Social Indices’

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

The Micro-insurance Network, the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO’s) micro-insurance innovation facility, has said that micro-insurance has impacted positively on the standard of living of low income earners across the world.

According to the organisation, the insurance programme for low income earners has caused improvement in out of pocket spending, use of health care services and better health outcomes, among other things.

The organisation made this submission in its report titled “A study on the Impact of Micro-insurance” released last week.
