REDD+ Can Make Poor Households More Vulnerable
Protecting tropical forests while supporting local communities is the core idea behind Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+), a UN-led programme launched in the mid-2000s. The premise is simple: conserve forests, reduce emissions and create economic opportunities for those who depend on them.
