It’s That Time Again – Here’s Your Official SOCAP19 Conference Preview

October is in full swing, and that means it’s time for SOCAP – the 12th annual gathering of investors, entrepreneurs and others helping to drive mission-focused business. Happening next week, SOCAP19 will host over 500 speakers and hold more than 150 breakout sessions at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture in San Francisco. Organizers are expecting attendance of over 3,000 professionals from social enterprise, impact investing and other diverse sectors.

“Our annual flagship conference amplifies themes, thought leaders and announcements that we curate year-round through regional live events and digital content,” said Lindsay Smalling, Chief Executive Officer of SOCAP. “The global community attending SOCAP19 represents a growing ecosystem from across sectors that is unlocking the power of markets to accelerate impact.”

Breakout sessions will focus on 12 key themes this year, including:

  • Catalytic capital

As in years past, NextBillion will be a media partner at SOCAP19 – but with some exciting new additions. This year, we will be providing coverage of the event in real time, live-tweeting, live-blogging and streaming interviews via Facebook Live.

Editor James Militzer will also be representing NextBillion in the pre-event Impact Growth Workshop on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 22  in Fort Mason’s Southside Theater. Militzer will join a panel alongside prominent names in impact media, such as Anthea Kelsick of B Lab, Eric Nee of Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR), Catherine Cheney of Devex and Justin Belleme at JB Media Group. Come learn how to better market your social impact organization from the experts. Breakout sessions will cover media, branding, content marketing, content strategy, digital advertising, design and marketing analytics.
