NextBillion will joining forces with Ashoka from 3-5 p.m. EST Wednesday, April 27 for a Twitter chat about sustainable, affordable housing innovations for low-income consumers. We want to hear your ideas, questions and examples of successful collaborations between entrepreneurs, companies and the public sector in developing affordable housing solutions.

The discussion is part of Ashoka’s monthly #SocEntChat, a real-time Twitter-based discussion on social entrepreneurship based around a specific theme. As Ashoka notes, the conversation is designed for current and aspiring social entrepreneurs, policy makers, funders, media, and supporters to share their ideas, discuss the state of the field, identify the latest innovations, and pinpoint areas requiring more exploration.

We’re expecting a wide-ranging discussion on issues touching affordable housing – from government subsidies to payment structures and the various local, global, and collaborative solutions.

It’s a fortuitous time to be speaking with Ashoka on the topic. Last week, Ashoka’s Changemakers announced the winners of the recent Sustainable Urban Housing:Collaborating for Livable and Inclusive Cities. (Check out the NextBillion post on it here). Several Ashoka Fellows and contest winners will be joining the conversation to answer your questions and share their experiences.
