Aaron Merchen is the Senior Associate for Global Policy & Advocacy at RESULTS, an organization of volunteers using their voices to influence political decisions to end poverty worldwide. Merchen’s work on anti-poverty includes creating advocacy materials to educate the public and congress on the importance of investing in quality, holistic early childhood development (ECD) interventions and creating accountability tools to track investments in ECD by major multilateral development organizations. Merchen has served as chair of the policy advocacy subcommittee on the Early Childhood Development Action Network and conducted workshops on policy advocacy for the Africa Early Childhood Network. Prior to joining RESULTS, Merchen worked with UNICEF in Jamaica and delivered disability inclusion training and worked on projects with the Jamaican Ministry of Education, Youth, and Information to scale-up their School-Wide Positive Behavior program. Merchen has long been an advocate for education and human rights, and previously worked on health issues with Special Olympics International and organized a gender-rights education conference as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cambodia.
