Dr. Bernard Olayo, founder and chairman of the Center for Public Health and Development (CPHD), is a Kenyan physician and public health specialist with more than 14 years of experience as an Africa-based public health practitioner. CPHD is a Nairobi-based regional NGO that implements solutions aimed at addressing health needs of women and children. He is also a technical team member for several World Bank programs in East Africa and an adviser to several ministries of health in the region. He previously worked for Columbia University’s Earth Institute as a health specialist in the Millennium Villages Project, and Italian Development Corporation as a health adviser. He started his career with the Ministry of Health in Kenya as medical officer of health.
