Katharina Weber is a Project Leader at Open Capital and member of the Gender Practice, shaping Open Capital’s work in promoting women’s empowerment, and providing targeted support to businesses and investors. She has provided investment readiness support to SMEs covering various sectors in East and West Africa and conducted research on gender and women-led/owned-SMEs, particularly exploring the challenges and barrier in accessing capital.

Katharina joined Open Capital in the beginning of 2023, and previously worked for a specialized investment firm overseeing a donor-funded facility providing seed capital to fund managers in forest landscape restoration. She holds a Master’s degree from Copenhagen Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from Leuphana University Lueneburg.
