Loïc De Cannière

Loïc De Cannière is an economist and impact investor with extensive experience across Africa. He is the author of The Future of Employment in Africa: Demography, Labour Markets & Welfare, which examines the key socio-economic trends set to shape sub-Saharan Africa over the next three decades.

He is the founder of Incofin Investment Management, a leading impact fund manager for the Global South with more than USD 1 billion in assets under management. Incofin has invested in some twenty African countries, supporting financial institutions, the agri-food value chain, and safe drinking water enterprises. Its Africa office is located in Nairobi, Kenya.

Loïc serves on the Board of Finance Trust Bank (Uganda) and is an investor in FPM (DRC). Prior to founding Incofin, he led structured finance at the DEME Group, a marine engineering company, where he worked on major port construction and environmental projects in Africa and Asia.

He studied economics at Louvain (Belgium) and philosophy in Munich (Germany). In recognition of his contributions to impact finance, he was knighted by the King of Belgium.
