Luis Marquez
Value for Women

Luis Marquez leads Value for Women’s advisory services, strategy and a global team of consultants and advisors, and oversees a portfolio of initiatives that provide development finance institutions, impact investors, financial institutions and governments with advisory support in gender-lens investing and cutting-edge, action-oriented research.

His work, along with that of the team that he leads, focuses on helping international organizations to develop gender criteria and indicators for the private sector (e.g. the Women’s Empowerment Principles Public Policy Roadmap and the Gender Smart Nexus) and designing new innovations in the gender-lens investing space. Luis leverages over 15 years of experience in the design and implementation of gender equality and women’s economic empowerment projects, advisory services, studies, institutional strategies and strategic partnerships.

Luis has worked with a variety of development organizations and initiatives, including the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations, Data2x and the World Bank. Prior to his work at Value for Women, Luis led research on unpaid care work and time-use data for the United Nations Foundation.
