María Boa-Alvarado
CIMMYT

Maria Boa-Alvarado is currently the scaling coordinator for CIMMYT’s Sustainable Intensification Program. She’s a facilitator and moderator specialized in the Scaling Scan methodology with different experiences in Latin America, Africa and South Asia. Her passion is to facilitate and jointly work with people on complex sustainability challenges. Before joining CIMMYT, she worked as a visiting researcher for the Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security Program (CCAFS) in Central America. She was trained as a manager of natural resources, and holds a joint master’s degree on international science in rural development from Wageningen University, Gent University and Humboldt University. She is a member of the board of the Agriculture and Rural Development working group of the Scaling Up Community of Practice.
