Maria Zheng is a Research Assistant at the William Davidson Institute, where she reports and conducts secondary research on “base of the pyramid” (BoP) business enterprises for environmental sustainability and poverty alleviation. She is also an Editor for NextBillion.net, where she assists in email, research, and news operations.

Maria grew up in New Jersey and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration at University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Previously, she served on the business committee and board of University of Michigan’s Sadaqa Social Justice Network, connecting student service organizations together with a focus on business strategies towards development and humanitarian issues.
