Martijn Veen is Global Head of Energy at SNV, involved in the design and implementation of energy access and market development programmes of SNV globally, overseeing a portfolio of projects in different renewable energy sub-sectors. His experience includes private sector driven mechanisms supporting energy access through distributed renewable energy (DRE), as well as innovative solutions to overcome barriers to investment. Particular track-record includes the design and implementation of Results Based Financing (RBF) facilities to de-risk commercial investment and catalyse private sector delivery of energy access, as well as productive use of energy in agricultural value chains. He is an expert in development cooperation, off-grid energy market development, natural resource management and environmental planning, with over 20 years of professional experience, particularly across Africa and Latin America, seeking synergies and innovative solutions in complex multi-stakeholder processes.
