Naheed Islam is a researcher with extensive experience working on financial inclusion issues. She currently works as a consultant for InterMedia, a research consulting firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., where she is the team insights lead for its Financial Inclusion Insights (FII) program. FII is a multi-country research project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to track the development of mobile and digital financial services across eight countries in Asia and Africa.

She previously worked on Access to Finance projects with Enclude (formerly ShoreBank International), Mercy Corps, IFC, USAID, bKash/Brac, Sub-K and other clients in South and Southeast Asia, and as a consultant at the World Bank.She has a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California at Berkeley, and can be contacted via LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/naheed-islam/15/537/698.
