Venu Aggarwal

Venu Aggarwal leads 60 Decibels’s work in Agriculture and has over 10 years of experience working in international development across several countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. She was a part of the founding team that pioneered Acumen’s Lean Data approach.

Venu has steered rigorous research projects, including impact evaluations in private sector provision of poultry. She has a Masters in Public Affairs (International Development) from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Affairs at Princeton University. Prior to her work at Acumen and 60 Decibels, she worked as a development consultant with a livelihood focused non-profit called PRADAN in India and as a Business Analyst for McKinsey & Company.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues into 2021, Kenyan farmers’ ability to weather this crisis is at the heart of the region’s recovery, say Venu Aggarwal and Kelsey Jarrett at 60 Decibels. They share data 60 Decibels has collected from thousands of Kenyan farmers, revealing both slight improvements since the early days of the crisis, and the danger of more severe, longer-term financial distress.
