William Wells
U.S. Agency for International Development

William Wells is a senior TB technical advisor at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C. He provides technical guidance globally and to individual countries on TB implementation issues, with special focus on public-private mix (PPM), market access for new drug and diagnostic products, and late-stage and implementation research. He is a co-chair of the Stop TB Partnership’s subgroup on PPM. Prior to working at USAID, he was director, market access, at the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development in New York and a frequent consultant for the World Health Organization. He has a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, and a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University.
