In 2023, Impact Europe’s members continued to explore the role of Catalytic Capital as a vital accelerator for impact investing. Activities ranging from e-talks, blogs, Impact Week events to the release of Impact Europe’s whitepaper ‘Catalysing Impact’, all looked to showcase and explain our community’s belief in this form of capital.
One area we, as a community, highlighted was the vital role grant capital had to play as catalytic capital. Responding to this in 2023 via a series of e-talks (here and here), we started to explore what catalytic grant making looks like for foundations and how best practices can be replicated.
To kick-off 2024, Impact Europe is continuing this journey by organising a Foundations e-talk on catalytic grant making, to showcase practitioners’ best practices. The e-talk, taking place on 9 April at 14.00 CEST, will provide an interactive discussion, where you can learn about other organisations’ journey, barriers and solutions towards more impact through catalytic grant making.
Impact Europe members can also join us for a members-only online gathering on 12 March at 10.00 CET, providing an opportunity for a more in-depth discussion.
