CASA 4×4: Grahame Dixie answers questions drawing on his recent experience at Grow Asia
The CASA breakthrough webinars are taking a summer break, however on 30 June 2021 we will be launching our new approach to sharing information, and Grahame Dixie from Grow Asia will be driving the first 4×4.
What is 4×4?
CASA will pose 4 crowd-sourced questions to Grahame and ask him to give us a 4-minute answer. Grahame has great experience of agri-investment in Asia and beyond.
Grahame was a panellist in CASA Webinar 5: Making Inclusivity Work: A role for legal empowerment.
What can we learn from the review of 178 agribusiness investments made by the CDC over a 50-year period? This could include:
- risk and failure factors and the business models appeared to have lower risk,
- the pain caused to out growers when business failed,
- the importance of allowing the on-sale of distressed agricultural assets,
- the fact that occasionally such investments can be truly transformative, opening new business sectors, creating thousands of new jobs and brining in millions of dollars new income into rural economies.
