Charging Ahead: Accelerating E-Mobility in Africa
Join us to hear insights from our latest report Charging Ahead – Accelerating e-mobility in Africa, which explores the e-mobility opportunity and gathers valuable learnings from three PREO-supported companies operating across sub-Saharan Africa.
Motorcycles, whether electric or powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE) are popular across sub-Saharan Africa as a mode of transport and a means of employment. From motorcycles to tuk-tuks, buses, boats and agricultural vehicles, early-stage businesses are expanding the sub-Saharan Africa electric mobility market. It is projected that by 2050, 80% of all global motorcycle sales will be electric motorcycles.
During the event, we will bring together a range of experts and innovators to share views on the e-mobility opportunity. The event will feature the following:
- Perspectives from keynote speaker Victoria Sabula, CEO of AECF (Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund) a leading non-profit development organisation.
- The official launch of Charging Ahead: Accelerating e-mobility in Africa by the Carbon Trust and Energy 4 Impact
- Panel discussion between the three e-mobility companies featured in the report; Mobile Power, Zembo and Roam joined by the Principal of Investments and Venture Building at African VC, Persistent Capital.
- Open Capital will provide pre-launch information on a new e-mobility initiative.
The event is relevant for a range of funders and donors, impact investors, project developers, and potential partners in the energy access space with a strategic interest in e-mobility.
