Experiences and Lessons Learned from WASH and Water Resources Governance in Tanzania

Please join the USAID Tanzania Water Resources Integration Development Initiative (WARIDI) for a discussion about achievements, lessons learned, and the future of water supply and water governance in the Wami-Ruvu and Rufiji river basins.

The Wami-Ruvu and Rufiji river basins cover 30 percent of Tanzania’s land area. These economically important watersheds include much of the country’s hydropower and many fishing, forestry, and sugar industries and livelihoods, but suffer from a lack of access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services. Beginning in 2016, USAID/WARIDI worked with the Ministry of Water, local institutions, and communities in 20 selected Local Government Authorities in the two basins to provide sustainable access to safe drinking water, improve the management of water resources, support the private sector to expand WASH product offerings, and promote resilient communities in the face of a changing climate. This webinar will discuss experience and lessons learned from more than five years of work. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session with the presenters.
