ORF America and WRI India is hosting a webinar on the eve of World Environment Day to examine the evolving landscape of steel sector decarbonization. The discussion will draw on insights from two recent publications: ORF America’s ‘Special Report, Greening Steel in a Fragmented World: Aligning Markets, Technology, and Finance’, which examines the coordination challenges shaping global steel decarbonization, and WRI India’s Issue Brief, ‘Navigating Industrial Decarbonization in India: Learnings from Different Approaches and Best Practices’, which explores industrial transition pathways, including the steel sector, while highlighting lessons and best practices from India and global experiences across industries.

The webinar will explore how policymakers, industry leaders, and financial institutions can better align technology deployment, market creation, and enabling policy frameworks to accelerate steel decarbonization across the entire steel value chain, from raw material inputs and energy supply to production, procurement, and end-use demand.
