Join impact investor and philanthropist Amy Brakeman as she shares lessons from her impact investing journey that has been largely focused on creating a more just and sustainable U.S. economy.
Amy brings experience from both the business and non-profit sectors. Following a liquidity event in 2017, Amy was dissatisfied with traditional thinking about finance and philanthropy. She decided to align 100% of her assets with her values. Today, through her initiative Pluralize Capital, Amy deploys capital to expand equitable access to capital, build household wealth inclusively through asset ownership, and increase just and resilient land use through forestry and food systems.
Amy has continued to evolve her impact strategy with ImpactAssets through an iterative process of doing, assessing and refining capital deployment.
Kim Griffin, Pluralize Capital’s Impact Investing Consultant, will also contribute insights from her work with Pluralize Capital and experience as a fundraiser for major entities addressing affordable housing and conservation. Together, Amy and Kim will share more about how they apply an impact-first approach to an investment portfolio.
