The Role of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) In Safeguarding Global Health

In this webinar, we will examine the linkages between water, global health and human rights.

Every person needs a sustainable supply of clean water: for drinking, washing, cooking and cleaning. However, despite being a basic human right, 2 billion people still lack access to safely managed drinking water services and 3.6 billion people lack safely managed sanitation services. Moreover, 2.3 billion people lack access to basic hygiene practices, compounding the effects on people’s health. Safeguarding global health – and ensuring prosperity for all – cannot be achieved without ramping up efforts to provide universal WASH.
