Presentation of the Report of the Digital Finance Task Force & Launch of the Dialogue on Global Digital Finance Governance

Organizer:
The United Nations Secretary-General’s Task Force on Digital Financing of the Sustainable Development Goals

By harnessing the disruptive potential of digital technologies, the world can create a fairer, more inclusive financial system that serves the people and accelerates the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). How to unleash this tremendous potential is the focus of the UN Secretary General’s Task Force on Digital Financing for the SDGs.

The objective of this event is to present the key findings of the Report of the Digital Finance Task Force, along with the Action Agenda, and bring them to life through moderated discussion among leaders from the financial, fintech, regulatory, and international development communities to reflect on their experiences, with a specific focus on unleashing the potential of fintech for financing the SDGs.

The event will also present and formally launch “The Dialogue on Global Digital Finance Governance”, a Task Force pathfinder initiative supported by Switzerland. Panel discussions will touch on specific issues that the Dialogue is concerned with, including SDG impacts of BigFintech and the related need to advance a broader, more inclusive, SDG-sensitized conversation around their governance.
