IPIHD held its first study tour in India last October in order to bring health system leaders face to face with health care innovators. Three of those innovators, plus 27 more creative firms, will be represented at the third annual IPIHD Forum in Washington, D.C., on April 6.

New climate innovation centre launched in Ethiopia
A new climate innovation centre which aims to help jumpstart clean technology and climate-smart ventures has been launched in Ethiopia. Called the Ethiopia Climate Innovation Center (ECIC), it is expected to help more than 3.1 million people increase resilience to climate change and create more than 12,000 jobs in the next 10 years.

More Kenyans To Benefit From New Private Sector Healthcare Initiative

Private sector networks account for more than 50 percent of Kenya’s healthcare providers serving the needs of Kenyans living on lower incomes.

Health Centers Paying Off in Kenyan Slums: Access Afya’s award-winning model is based on empowering clients
Access Afya runs two micro-clinics in Nairobi slums with plans to expand to four sites by the end of 2014. Monthly revenue increased more than 150 percent in 12 months and both sites are covering between 70-80 percent of their operating costs in 2014. Access Afya’s goal is to have all four sites, current and planned, self-sustaining by the end of the year.
