Workers want those hard-to-find socially responsible investments in their 401(k) plans: Survey
A new survey finds that 61% of workers would increase their retirement savings if they could put their money in socially conscious investments. The same survey also found that just 13% of workers have access to those kinds of impact investments.

Cathay Innovation and AfricInvest to Raise $168m Africa VC Fund
Barrier could not say when the fund would be closed, but did confirm investments could come as early as summer 2019. He expects to see strong local showing for startups from across Africinvest’s 10 country offices in Abidjan, Algiers, Cairo, Casablanca, Dubai, Lagos, Nairobi, Paris, Port Louis and Tunis. The firm will open an office in Johannesburg in the near future, according to a company release.

Press release: OPIC announces investing milestone as portfolio for impact reaches $100 million in commitments
OPIC, the U.S. Government’s development finance institution, first launched Portfolio for Impact (PI) in 2014 as pilot program to support promising impact investments that might struggle to raise capital because they are small or early-stage. Since that initial launch, OPIC has committed more than $100 million across 22 projects that are supporting small farmers and small businesses in emerging markets, and expanding access to food, education, healthcare, technology, financial services and clean water.
