Oracle Plans to Cut 3,000 India Jobs the Same Month Microsoft Puts 500 on Notice
Oracle is reportedly moving to cut close to 3,000 jobs in India around September 1 or 15, right as its new fiscal quarter opens, following a fiscal-year headcount drop of 21,000 that the company partly blamed on AI adoption. Microsoft, meanwhile, has put roughly 500 India employees, about 2% of its India workforce, on performance improvement plans, giving the AI-versus-headcount story its clearest real numbers yet.
