Twitter Top Ten – 5-3-15: #Nepal
Normally we recognize ten tweets each Sunday that stood out to us from the week gone by. Today we’re doing 11 – including one linking to a list of organizations that need donations to continue relief work in Nepal. One week after the devastating earthquake that took so many lives and left so many more uncertain, the need is still well beyond comprehension.
We witnessed a surge of social businesses providing products and services in Japan following the tsunami, and similar efforts in Haiti after its massive earthquake there. Some of these businesses and partnerships were sustained, some have faltered. Sadly, the pattern of disaster has repeated, but we’re hopeful a new generation of business solutions and investment can respond, with enterprises picking up where emergency services ultimately, and inevitably, leave off.
As always, please tweet suggestions for your top tweets of the week to @NextBillion or NextBillion managing editor @ScotterAnderson, to @NextBillionHC for health care related items, and to @NextBillionFI for financial inclusion and impact investing topics.
