Thelma Obiakor

Thelma Obiakor is a research fellow with the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa, and Lead Research and Evaluation Consultant at Cloneshouse Nigeria.

Thelma works within the fields of economics, education and finance, with a critical lens on inclusive development. Her work is situated at the nexus between research, evaluation, policy and practice. She supports international donor organizations and government agencies in gathering evidence and collecting data to inform decision making, and conducts rigorous results-based evaluations to measure the impact of their work.

She also offers training in Results-Based Management (RBM), including Monitoring and Evaluation, and has developed and deployed several online and offline RBM systems for NGOs in Africa. Most recently, she completed an investigative study on readiness of the Ministries of Budget and National Planning, Health and Water Resource in Nigeria, to build and sustain a Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation System.

She holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
