Agosta Liko is the CEO and Co-founder of Pesapal, the leading payment services company with local know-how in building digital payments and business tools for Africa. He leads a team of over 300 people in five countries that share a commitment to product innovation that solves Africa’s payment challenges.

Since its founding in 2009, Pesapal has empowered tens of thousands of businesses and entrepreneurs to collect money online and in person via mobile devices, cards and bank transfers. It backs this up with popular digital tools for ticketing, reservations, inventory management, reporting, merchant credit, APIs and more.

Agosta has 20+ years of technology experience in financial services, having worked on credit scoring and payments systems for First Citizens Bank in the U.S. He later founded Verviant Consulting Services in 2008. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE+I) and Cisco Certified Networking Associate.

Quartz has recognized Agosta as an African innovator. He regularly comments on the significance of connecting African entrepreneurs and customers to electronic payments, e-commerce and the global financial system.
