Social innovators are tackling some of Africa's biggest development challenges — yet many struggle to scale beyond their initial promise. Meanwhile, they face growing expectations to deliver both jobs and social impact throughout the region. As Amabelle Nwakanma, Akolade Oladipupo, Abdullahi Ibrahim and Chukwuemeka Okeke at LEAP Africa explain, accelerators, incubators and fellowships have proliferated across the continent to support social enterprises, yet it's unclear if they are actually aligned with these innovators' current needs.
