Energy 4 Impact

Javier Baranda Alonso is an energy access analyst at Energy 4 Impact, the energy team within Mercy Corps, which seeks to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods through accelerated access to energy in sub-Saharan Africa. In this capacity Javier supports social enterprises to deliver energy access solutions in rural and humanitarian settings.

Before joining Energy 4 Impact, he supported international energy access programming at the European Commission and worked as a researcher on energy access in humanitarian settings at Imperial College London. He holds a master’s degree in sustainable energy from Imperial College London and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Technical University of Madrid.
