Jeff Fessler
The American International School of Bamako

Jeff Fessler is a grade 4-5 teacher at the American International School of Bamako in Mali, West Africa. In his three years there, Mali endured a coups d’état, a counter coup, a takeover of the northern part of the country by armed terrorist groups, an intervention by the French army and an Ebola outbreak, which is why he says he can handle just about anything at this point. He previously taught at U.B. Kinsey Elementary School of the Arts in Florida, managed a federal arts integration grant and was a national teacher trainer for a school reform organization. He was the 2011 Palm Beach County Teacher of the Year. He and his partner Jamey next head to Shanghai American School to teach. HIs website is www.2seetheglobe.com.
