Vasu Kangovi

Vasu Kangovi is Associate Vice President, Business Consulting Services at Intellecap.

He has over 18 years of hands-on experience in the impact sector, with a special focus on the financial inclusion space. He managed many strategy and operational consulting  assignments across Asia and Africa for varied clients, including corporations, social enterprises, financial institutions and donors. He also successfully completed many international assignments in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Zambia.

At Intellecap, he’s working on strategy development, business modeling and market landscaping. He has done significant work for financial inclusion companies and supported them across growth stages ranging from start-ups to listed companies. He is actively involved in mentoring and hand holding institutions by developing systems and processes for strengthening organization, and he facilitates linkages between the private and public sector and provides capacity building to various stakeholders of inclusive businesses. He has experience working with clients like IFC, DFID, Rockefeller, SIDBI and multinational companies.

Prior to joining the Intellecap Consulting team, he was heading the microfinance incubation program titled “Network Enterprise Program” at IntelleCash, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intellecap, where he also led the social performance management. Before IntelleCash, he worked at CARE, an international funding organization, and at the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), which implemented the World Bank funded project titled “Andhra Pradesh District Poverty Initiatives Project.”

Vasu holds a Bachelors and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.
