Peter Weston
Energy 4 Impact

Peter Weston is the Managing Director of Energy 4 Impact, a non-profit organization which alleviates poverty and improves livelihoods through access to energy in sub-Saharan Africa. He ran the programmes team at Energy 4 Impact for five years before taking over the leadership of the organization after the merger with Mercy Corps. Peter is an expert in power and renewable energy, with 25 years of experience as an investor, lender, strategic adviser and project implementer. He is a non-executive director of social investor Thrive Renewables and a former board member of Renewable World, another NGO. Prior to Energy 4 Impact, he was global head of finance and investment for two power equipment suppliers – Siemens Wind and MAN – and led GE Capital’s European energy lending team. Peter has a BA in Economics and Politics from Warwick University in the UK.
