2025Unlocking Catalytic Capital For Climate-Smart Investing In Southern Africa
The Southern Africa Regional Convening is hosted by AVPA, and seeks to bridge the financing gap into climate smart impact opportunities in the sub-region, by bringing together investors, policymakers, development finance institutions, and entrepreneurs, to explore innovative financing and de-risking mechanisms, and deepen partnerships that can help unlock more capital for high-impact, climate-smart projects in Southern Africa. Climate smart opportunities, including agri-foods and energy systems, amongst others remains significantly under-financed and this requires intentionality by capital providers and other stakeholders to increase the flow of capital into these impact opportunities that contribute to climate mitigation, adaptation, resilience and sustainability in the sub-region.Building on AVPA’s African Impact Investment Fellowship (AIIF) and African Climate Investing Forum (ACIF) cohorts, this event will serve as an ideal platform for structured peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange around impact investing, especially with a focus on climate-smart investing and the mobilisation of more capital into these opportunities, leveraging catalytic capital.
Please Note: Due to limited capacity, applications will be subject to a selection and approval process.
