Global Challenges: Asian Solutions
In 2022 the AVPN community reconnected after a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19. During that time much of the progress and momentum that had been made towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) had stalled or, in some cases, been reversed. As a result of the effects of the economic slowdown, caused by the locking down of economies and the diversion of public resources to focus on emergency response, the role of philanthropy and social investment has never been more critical.
The three-day Conference will also include a dedicated AVPN Impact Investing Day. This is the first-of-its-kind large-scale impact investment-focused convening in Asia and will feature global and Asian investors, funds as well as Limited Partners (LPs) including asset managers, family offices, and institutional investors.
Delivered in partnership with Yayasan Hasanah, the foundation of Khazanah Nasional, the Malaysian government’s sovereign wealth fund, the AVPN Global Conference 2023 will be an opportunity for the social investment community to come together to take urgent, courageous, and bold action to address these critical issues. As we enter the third year of the decade of action, there is no time to waste.
A Fast Growing Social Investment Ecosystem
Yayasan Hasanah, the foundation of Khazanah Nasional, the Malaysian government’s sovereign wealth fund, has been a pioneer in driving forward the development of social investment in Malaysia. AVPN is excited to bring the annual conference to Kuala Lumpur for the first time. Yayasan Hasanah’s own annual flagship event, The Hasanah Forum, will take place alongside the AVPN Global Conference, offering delegates an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Malaysian social investment context and its position within the wider Asia Pacific region.
AVPN Global Conference 2023 will bring together leaders from Asia and beyond, to collectively envision an impact future that is inclusive, equitable and sustainable. Importantly, this convening will be an opportunity to build the trust between social investors, philanthropists and community impact leaders that will be the essential ingredients for Asia’s success.
Through the three days, delegates will have the opportunity to explore key issues that impact the region and develop collaborative partnerships that lead to action.
