Beyond Venture Capital: Diverse Paths to Funding Impact Startups

Join us for an enlightening IE Deep Dive where Village Capital’s Allie Burns and Nathaly Botero discuss their thought-provoking article, “Redefining the Fundraising Journey for Impact Startups,” which was co-authored with Aunnie Patton Power. This session will delve into why the traditional form of funding and supporting early-stage impact startups requires innovation, exploring emerging alternatives that can align more closely with the goals of creating sustainable, impact-creating enterprises.

“As we explore the broad spectrum of funding mechanisms available to entrepreneurs, it’s crucial to understand that success isn’t necessarily defined by the size of an exit or valuation,” the authors remark. This conversation will unpack why the choice of funding strategy is as crucial as the amount raised, key factors to consider when exploring options, and how financial structures can impact a startup’s mission and its intended impact. Whether you are an entrepreneur seeking to navigate the complex funding landscape or an investor or entrepreneur support organization looking to support transformative business models, this session will equip you with the insights to approach fundraising with intention and innovation. Join us to gain a deeper understanding of how diverse funding paths can contribute to a more inclusive and impactful economy.
