BIMS: Helping Inclusive Businesses Measure Performance and Social Impact

On 25 February 2016, the Business Call to Action (BCtA) will host a webinar to discuss its approach to impact measurement of inclusive businesses. Through BCtA Impact Measurement Services (BIMS), we help inclusive business members conduct ongoing measurement of social impact along with financial and operational performance. BIMS provides technical expertise and technology tools to design and implement survey-based data collection from the field through employees, customers and other stakeholders. The webinar will share our learnings and discuss how impact measurement can help companies enhance the effectiveness of their inclusive business practices.

CONTEXT

There is a growing interest in the field to measure and collect more robust data on social impact of inclusive businesses. Businesses can use social impact data to:

  • Incorporate customer feedback into their products and service development
  • Market the intended social value of their products and services to customers
  • Communicate their social contribution to investors, local authorities, and other stakeholders
  • Align their businesses to the global development agenda (SDGs), resulting in new business opportunities

The webinar will be moderated by the Business Call to Action and will feature insights from both BIMS implementing provider and participating company, sharing their experience on using impact assessment tools, trainings to field staff, and data collection roll-out.
