Building Trust and Taking Risks: A conversation with former U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam/President of the US-ASEAN Business Council
Join Amy Gillett, VP of Education at the William Davidson Institute (WDI) for a lively conversation with Ted Osius, former US Ambassador to Vietnam, former Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google Asia-Pacific and current President of the US-ASEAN Business Council.
Ambassador Osius will share some of the key insights from his new book “Nothing is Impossible: America’s Reconciliation with Vietnam.” He’ll then discuss his fascinating career, including his time in the foreign service, his transition to Google, and how he landed in his current position at the US-ASEAN Business Council. He’ll talk about the differences in working in the public sector vs. the private sector.
From his many travels, Ambassador Osius will share with us his insights into what it takes to succeed in interacting with and doing business with people from other cultures, with a focus on Southeast Asia/ Vietnam in particular, and how understanding the region can lead to opportunities.
You’ll have an opportunity to ask Ambassador Osius questions.
